Who can forget preparing for school each year? Mom and you would go out to the local big box retailer and purchase your school supplies for the year.
Along with pencils, pens, erasers, a ruler, a calculator, perhaps even a protractor there was always a need for a notebook.
When I was younger I used to get notebooks for each subject I was taking to make it easier to organize my thoughts and notes by class. It soon proved a difficult task carrying all those notebooks and textbook at once so I switched to a multi subject notebook. You know the type with all the cool dividers with packets in them and the multi colored tabs to write your class name in.
The note book has been around as long as paper has. The early Egyptians used to make paper out of papyrus and then take reeds and weave the tops of the sheets of paper together to form a notebook. Some people would also debate that scrolls can be considered a form of notebook. If this is the case one of the earliest note books would be the Dead Sea scrolls.
No one will debate the value of a notebook for education. A note book allows you to write down on the spots notes about your area of study. The ability to reread information taught by the teacher at a latter date is extremely important to success in your educational career.
It is estimated over ninety five percent of students who receive high grades attribute it to good note taking. In some institutions the teachers will actually ask the students to turn there notebooks in one to two times during the semester. The teachers then review each notebook to see if the student is taking proper notes.
Do not underestimate the value of a note book one of the greatest thinkers of all times Leonardo Da Vinci had a notebook with him at all times. Recently parts of Da Vinci’s notebooks were sold at auction for over three million dollars.
Be organized, focus and use your notebook and you will do great in school.
